I'm an ELD teacher and I have found the strategies both relevant and up to date, using current best practices as of 2017. I hate (HATE) purchasing books that have show strategies that are really basic or are based in old research practices.
For a new teacher having to accommodate English Language Learners, this book provided valuable insight. It provided tips, strategies and tools to help new and veteran teachers become more active and accommodating inside the classroom. For a new teacher, I would recommend this book. Keep in mind though, a lot of the activities are geared towards K-5. If you are teaching older kids, you just need to tweak the recommendations and activities to suit your needs.
I am a professor of education and LOVE the content of this text. However, one of the major reasons that I bought this kindle version was to be able to show my students examples of good teaching practice. The links in the Kindle edition do not work, and I am unable to return this book because it is a Kindle Edition. I'm feeling VERY frustrated.
Do I like the contents of the book? Yeah, not really. Do it come in good condition and was useful for passing my class? Absolutely!
I love this book. I ordered it for an ESOL class I was taking. I thought it would be another on of those books I would resell after using it for the semester... I was wrong. I liked the book so much, I plan on keeping it as a resource to use during my teaching career.

This book has wonderful strategies. I wish it wasn't so expensive and I wasn't so poor because otherwise I would keep in my classroom.
I received my book on time, the only reason there is star. It was stained all the way through. But that’s not the worst part. It was sticky. Both covers were disgusting. I took a sanatizing wipe to it but it did not help the gross.
